Anthurium Hookeri Care: Help Your Plant Thrive the Right Way!

The Bird’s Nest Anthurium is rather non-demanding and fuss-free. However, like most other plants, it needs to be understood and taken care of the right way in order to thrive in your space.
So, here’s everything you need to know to help your Anthurium hookeri thrive in your space:

1. Light Requirements

Essentially, the Bird’s Nest Anthurium needs bright, indirect light to thrive. It does not appreciate too much direct sunlight as its delicate leaves might get scorched with extended exposure to that kind of light.
For optimal growth, give your plant a spot that allows the indirect sunlight to reach every inch of all its leaves. With the right amount of light, you will also see faster and healthier growth.

2. Watering the Plant

More often than not, it is easy to overwater a plant. So, with the Anthurium hookeri plant, it is key to remember that the plant only needs to be watered once the top inch of its soil dries out. It does not need to be watered on a daily basis or even on alternate days.
So, check the soil with your finger once or make use of Ugaoo’s Sustee Watermeter to ensure that you know just the right time to water your plant. This way, you can avoid underwatering and overwatering your plant, and ensure optimal growth over time.

3. Fertilization of the Hookeri

The Anthurium Hookeri needs just the right amount of fertilization, which ideally should be done with organic fertilizers that reduce the risk chemical fertilizers otherwise bring with them.
All Ugaoo plants are sent to you in a way that they do not need to be fertilized for the first 6 months. Post that, you can use Ugaoo’s Plant Food Fertilizer Sticks to ensure proper plant nourishment. One stick will last you two months and every time you water your plant, it will release nutrients into the soil that will ensure great growth and any potential blooming!

4. Pruning and Maintenance

All kinds of anthurium foliage plants need to be maintained to ensure their leaves grow well. When you notice yellowing or dried-up leaves on your plant, you know that it’s time to prune. So, grab your scissors and carefully cut off any such growth to ensure that the rest of your plant grows well.
However, you must always remember that any pruning tools that you may be using need to be kept clean. Cuts made with dirty tools can result in various infections in your plants that can then become difficult to treat.

5. Anthurium Hookeri Propagation

The best way to go about Anthurium hookeri propagation is through stem cuttings. When doing so, ensure that you cut out a healthy stem with at least 2-3 nodes on it, if not more. Once you make this cutting, you can do one of the following things:
You can either place the cutting in water to facilitate rooting or plant it directly in a pot with Coco Peat for the same. When planting in Coco Peat, you can use a proper Rooting Hormone to speed up the process and ensure optimal growth over time.

How do I place a bulk/coporate order?
For all the bulk/corporate orders, please contact hello@airifier.com
Why not use a fancy rigid box instead of a corrugated one when shipping this product?
To begin with, our corrugated box is of excellent quality and has numerous artworks on it. Therefore, it doesn't appear any less elegant. Our goal is packaging that is as environmentally friendly as it can be. We do not like to utilise rigid boxes because they require more paper and a lot of chemicals to manufacture. There is always a more environmentally friendly choice available: corrugated.
